About Me

I use a holistic approach, and believe that there is an important connection between the body (our physical health) and the mind (our emotional and spiritual health). I believe that these are equally important and that the neglect of one deeply impacts the others. In order for our work to be most effective, I implore my clients to take care of each of these aspects. I provide psychotherapy/counseling services for individual adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families from a basic theoretical orientation derived from systems theory. My approach to therapy is influenced by different theoretical perspectives including systemic, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral and integrative. The models I use most frequently include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, and Experiential, while integrating mindfulness aspects. I believe therapy should be a collaborative work of the client and therapist.

Education & Experience: I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) in Washington State. I am also a member the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Social Services, as well as my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Whitworth University. I completed my MFT internship at Spokane Public Schools where I worked with students (of all ages) and families for almost two years. I also completed internship hours at the Whitworth Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic, where I gained experience with individuals, families, and couples. My clinical experience includes working with clients that suffered from Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Substance Abuse, ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Schizophrenia, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. I also have background experience working with youth at risk in a short-term residential facility as well as teaching within the public school system.
